Deposit, Cancellation, and Reschedule Policy

Client quote must be accepted within two weeks of quote date, unless booked less than 30 days in advance, in which case a 72-hour acceptance is recommended to reserve your time slots. Deposit must be paid at the time of the quote acceptance in order to reserve booking, approximating 50% of the quote, which may include travel fees, bridal trials, or other up-charged services to be provided, such as airbrushing. Cancellation of event must be at least 30 days in advance for full deposit refund, less any services performed, such as a bridal trial or consult. If cancellation occurs in less than 30 days, but more than 14 days, before scheduled event, 50% cancellation fee applies to deposit. If cancellation occurs in less than 14 days, but more than 48 hours prior to event, 100% cancellation fee applies to deposit. If cancellation occurs less than 48 hours prior to the event, cancellation fee of full deposit plus 25% of the total charge applies, which includes travel arrangements.

We understand things happen and reschedules must occur. However, if we reschedule more than twice, it will have to be treated as a cancellation, and the original deposit is non-refundable. You must start again with a new deposit to reschedule the third time. The 14 days still applies, however from the ORIGINAL schedule date. This means that if a rescheduled appointment is cancelled, the deposit is non-refundable. Reschedules within 48 hours may be required to pay a minimal reschedule fee. This applies to photographers/agencies also. We reserve the right to cancel our services after the third reschedule, if more reschedules are required.

If the cancellation or the reschedule occurs due to an emergency, we may ask for supporting information regarding the emergency, and reserve the right to determine if we may make an exception. The exceptions will be solely at the discretion of Hair & Makeup by Jennifer.

Payment Policy

Once a quote is accepted, and the deposit paid, the client is responsible for the full amount at the time of service. This means that while services may be added, as long as time constraints allow, services cannot be removed once the quote is accepted. If, in the event, one in the bridal party or group shoot cancels their service(s), the party that accepted this quote will still be responsible for the cancelled service(s). This includes photographers that have hired Hair & Makeup by Jennifer.

Remaining payment must be paid in full at the time of the service date, before the beginning of the event. Hair & Makeup by Jennifer accepts the following forms of payment: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, PayPal, check, or cash. PayPal email address upon request. (Please mark as services provided, no shipping.) If additional services are required, these can be added to the quote at any time, provided that these are within time boundaries for the event, and recommended 14 days prior to the event. These services may be required to be pre-paid. Bridal trials may be required to be paid as additional services, if travel is expected of Hair & Makeup by Jennifer outside of a 50 mile radius. Deposits made over the phone or via PayPal will have an additional $5.00 fee. Returned checks may be re-deposited with a $30.00 check fee.

Liability Waiver

The client(s) agree to provide any and all information on allergies or skin issues that they, or the bridal party, may have so that the makeup artist can plan accordingly. This includes, but is not limited to: eczema, rosaecia, latex allergies, auto-immune illnesses, etc. Hair & Makeup by Jennifer adheres to both Missouri and Kansas state sanitation standards and licensures, and provides clean, sanitized brushes for each individual, and avoids any cross-contamination by using a clean brush for each product and client, as well as hand-washing and sanitizer between each client. Hair & Makeup by Jennifer uses only high-quality, name-brand, non-comedogenic products, does not provide refunds for services previously conducted, and will not be held liable for any allergic reactions, skin irritation, or breakouts. (Copy of liability certificate of indemnity upon request only to paid clients.)

Group Shoot Rules/Policies

1) Absolutely NO drama will be tolerated.

2) Come with no makeup on, only moisturizer. If I have to remove makeup, it will take a while for your face to settle and be ready for reapplication of makeup. This wastes time, and automatically means you will go last.

3) Show up on time. Makeup and hair will be done in the order of your arrival. You expect me to be there on time, there is no reason you can't be also.

4) After your makeup is done, no eating will be allowed. There is usually little to no time for touch-ups.

5) Bring a straw for your drink, so as not to mess up your lipstick.

6) Tipping is optional most of the time, but on some shoots, it's mandatory.

7) If you have latex or other allergies, I need to know ahead of time. If you're super sensitive to any makeup, I need to know. I usually don't encourage people to bring their own makeup, because I've tried and tested multiple products over the years, but if you insist on bringing your own, I will not be held liable for reflectiveness on camera.

8) Bring something to do while waiting.

9) Stay hydrated, eat right, get plenty of sleep the night before, and no alcoholic drinking the night before. Drinking alcohol makes your face puffy; I will have barely enough time to do your creative looks, I do not want to spend time on correcting your face.

10) Hair must be dry, clean, and free of product. Minimal product or day-old hair is acceptable.

11) Stay OFF of your cell phone when I'm doing your hair and makeup. This distracts both of us, and you can go without your phone for an hour. Unless your child is dying, then you shouldn't probably be in my chair...

12) Lashes, rhinestones, body paint, etc. are not free. If you'd like to bring your own, do so. Otherwise, I will charge you for them at the going rate, unless already agreed upon as part of your shoot. Do NOT assume I will provide extra product.
