Business and Friendship

Is it possible to work with your friends? That's a question I've yet been able to answer successfully, although sometimes it works. Separating business relationships from friendships is hard. Not a lot of people know how to do it properly. You get friends that expect you do them favors, and then when they don't respect your time, you get upset. But if you can separate the personal from the professional and lay it out on the table up front, it does make it easier. I've made a lot of friends in this biz, but that doesn't mean that they get to take advantage due to a personal relationship. Sometimes, if the other person has an issue with your separation of "church and state" then you must choose which relationship you wish to pursue.
